We support our local community where it's needed most
Port Waratah’s preference for local employment and procurement drive our contribution to the local economy. Our Procurement Strategy is built on having an environmentally and socially sustainable supply chain that maintains safety and quality, protects the environment and human health, saves energy, minimises waste, conserves resources and complies with modern slavery legislation. In 2020, we spent $86 million in the Hunter and Central Coast regions, representing 78% of our total spend. Our Community Investment and Partnership Programme invested $750,000 in 2020 across 107 projects, initiatives and events focused on building capacity, skills and knowledge within local individuals and organisations.
